Plastic Witness
Barbie may be born of this world but she is not of this earth, she is the manifestation of misguided visions of a perfect Earth. She is no anthropological or environmental photographer; she is a plastic doll; she doesn’t know what is bad or good. Barbie takes holiday snapshots of herself witnessing humanities destructive cycle of human life. In an age of systemic silencing of voice, her silence calls humanity out as merchants of iniquity. From the Black Friday Brawls shopping phenomenon, through smog clogged cities to beaches polluted with plastics; a witness to selfish insensitivity or just blind ignorance, Barbie does not succumb to human psychological factors of mass murder but something akin to the neurodegenerative disorder Kuru, turning her into judge and executioner.
